ARUNDEL BEE PROJECT’S QUEEN BEE AND WILDLIFE & RECYLING DAY
A day of bee and nature-themed family fun took place in the Pollinators Garden and in the Norfolk Centre on Saturday 17 August 2024.
Celebrating Arundel’s status as a Bee Friendly Town, The Arundel Bee Project volunteers had local honey for sale, as well as an observation hive on display, and advice and education about beekeeping, pollinator-friendly practices.
A children’s colouring and craft table, face-painting, interactive storytelling, magic and games from Chris North ‘Freedom Through Fun’ made the day go with a buzz!
Swarming around the town and Arundel Farmers Market with wildflower seeds and information about Arundel’s pollinator-friendly practices were our volunteer ‘worker bees’. They even managed to find the Mayor and an irresistible yellow Lotus to pose with – there to promote Arundel Festival of the Arts’ Sporting Bears ‘Dream Rides’ attraction – on next weekend!
In the Norfolk Centre, visitors could find out about other Arundel-based nature projects – such as Arundel – House Martins, Swallows and Swifts Nesting Project : B-BOB, Arundel Green Team and Arundel Agenda 21’s Hedgehog Club, as well as bring their hard-to-recycle plastics to the monthly recycling stall.
Huge thanks to all the volunteers who made the day such a success.
